Innovation versus Variation

Technical innovation is the motor of development. It reevents products, opens up unexplored paths and changes the way we're thinking. The 'New' must be better than the 'Current' in order to substitute it in the market successfully.

Cosmetic variations may be useful and necessary during a product's life cycle, depending on the nature of the product. The technical grade of such innovation is usually low. Cosmetic changes may be useful to extend the live time of already well selling products.
